Prof. Dapeng Oliver Wu, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong (IEEE Fellow)

Dapeng Oliver Wu (S'98--M'04--SM'06--F'13)  received a B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 1990, an M.E. degree in electrical engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, in 1997, and a Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, in 2003. He is Yeung Kin Man Chair Professor of Network Science, and Chair Professor of Data Engineering at the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong.  Previously, he was on the faculty of University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA and was the director of NSF Center for Big Learning, USA.  His research interests are in the areas of networking, communications, signal processing, computer vision, machine learning, smart grid, and information and network security. He received University of Florida Term Professorship Award in 2017, University of Florida Research Foundation Professorship Award in 2009, AFOSR Young Investigator Program (YIP) Award in 2009, ONR Young Investigator Program (YIP) Award in 2008, NSF CAREER award in 2007, the IEEE Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (CSVT) Transactions Best Paper Award for Year 2001, and the Best Paper Awards in IEEE GLOBECOM 2011 and International Conference on Quality of Service in Heterogeneous Wired/Wireless Networks (QShine) 2006. He has served as Editor in Chief of IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, Editor-at-Large for IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, founding Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Advances in Multimedia, and Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Signal and Information Processing over Networks, IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology. He is also a guest-editor for IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications (JSAC), Special Issue on Cross-layer Optimized Wireless Multimedia Communications and Special Issue on Airborne Communication Networks.  He has served as Technical Program Committee (TPC) Chair for IEEE INFOCOM 2012, and TPC chair for IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC 2008), Signal Processing for Communications Symposium, and as a member of executive committee and/or technical program committee of over 100 conferences. He was elected as a Distinguished Lecturer by  IEEE Vehicular Technology Society in 2016.  He has served as Chair for the Award Committee, and Chair of Mobile and wireless multimedia Interest Group (MobIG), Technical Committee on Multimedia Communications, IEEE Communications Society. He was an elected member of Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee, IEEE Signal Processing Society from Jan. 1, 2009 to Dec. 31, 2012.  He is an IEEE Fellow.

Prof. Deshuang Huang, Tongji University; Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo (IEEE Fellow)

De-Shuang Huang was born in Anhui Province, China. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees all in electronic engineering from the Institute of Electronic Engineering, Hefei, China, National Defense University of Science and Technology, Changsha, China and Xidian University, Xian, China, in 1986, 1989 and 1993, respectively. During July 1993-July 1995, he was a postdoctor research fellow in Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China. During July 1995-July 1997, He was a postdoctor research fellow and associate professor in National Key Laboratory of Pattern Recognition, Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. From August 1997 to March 2000, he worked as associate professor in Beijing Institute of System Engineering, Beijing, China. In September, 2000, he entered into Hefei Institute of Intelligent Machines (IIM)/CAS as full professor & the Recipient of “Hundred Talents Program of CAS”. From September 2000 to March 2001, he worked as Research Associate in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. From April 2002 to June 2003, he worked as Research Fellow in City University of Hong Kong. From August 21-Sepetember 21, 2003, he visited the George Washington University as visiting professor, Washington DC, USA. From October 23 to December 22, 2003, he worked as Research Fellow in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. From July 23 to December 22, 2004, he worked as University Fellow in Hong Kong Baptist University. From March 21, 2005 to March 20, 2006, he worked as Research Fellow in Chinese University of Hong Kong. From March 20, 2006 to July 20, 2006, he worked as visiting professor in Queen’s University of Belfast, UK. From October 18, 2007, November 2, 2008, June 25, 2009 to November 18, 2007, December 2, 2008, July 25, 2009, he worked as visiting professor in Inha University, Korea, respectively. From June 2015 to June 2018 he was the visiting professor of the Liverpool John-Moore University, UK. From September 2011 on, he worked as chaired professor in Tongji University. At present, he is the director of Institute of Machines Learning and Systems Biology, Director of International Cooperation United Laboratory of Cognition Internet, Professor and PhD Advisor (since March 2001) in the University of Science and Technology of China (Hefei) and Tongji University. His Research interests include Neural Networks, Pattern Recognition, Bioinformatics and Image Processing. His Google Scholar citation number is 23965 times and H index is 80.

Prof. Xiangjie Kong, Zhejiang University of Technology, China

Dr. Xiangjie Kong is currently a Full Professor and Acacemic Associate Dean in the College of Computer Science & Technology, Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT), China. Previously, he was an Associate Professor in School of Software, Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China, where he was the Head of the Department of Cyber Engineering. He is the Founding Director of City Science of Social Computing Lab (The CSSC Lab). He is/was on the Editorial Boards of 6 International journals. He has served as the General Chair or Program Chair of more than 10 conferences. Dr. Kong has authored/co-authored over 200 scientific papers in international journals and conferences including IEEE TKDE, IJCAI, ACL, IEEE TMC, ACM CSUR, ACM TKDD, IEEE TNSE, IEEE TII, IEEE TITS, IEEE NETW, IEEE COMMUN MAG, IEEE TVT, IEEE IOJ, IEEE TSMC, IEEE TETC, IEEE TASE, IEEE TCSS, ACM TSON, ACM TSAS, WWWJ, etc.. 5 of his papers is selected as ESI- Hot Paper (Top 1‰), and 20 papers are ESI-Highly Cited Papers (Top 1%). His research has been reported by Nature Index and other medias. He has been invited as Reviewers for numerous prestigious journals including IEEE TKDE, IEEE TMC, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TNSE, IEEE TII, IEEE IOTJ, IEEE COMMUN MAG, IEEE NETW, IEEE TITS, TCJ, JASIST, etc.. Dr. Kong has authored/co-authored three books (in Chinese). He has contributed to the development of 14 copyrighted software systems and 30 filed patents. He is named in the 2019 - 2023 world’s top 2% of Scientists List published by Stanford University. He is named in the 2022-2024 Best Computer Science Scientists List published by Research.com. Dr. Kong received IEEE Vehicular Technology Society 2020 Best Land Transportation Paper Award, IEEE CSCWD 2024 Best Paper Award, and The Natural Science Fund of Zhejiang Province for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has been invited as Keynote Speaker at more thant 10 international conferences, and delivered a number of Invited Talks at international conferences and many universities worldwide. His research interests include big data, network science, and computational social science. He is a Distinguished Member of CCF, a Senior Member of IEEE, a Full Member of Sigma Xi, and a Member of ACM.

Prof. Hanhua Chen, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China

Hanhua Chen received the PhD degree in computer science and engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), in 2010. He is currently a professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology, HUST, China. His research interests include big data processing systems and distributed computing systems. He received the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of China in 2012. He has published more than 70 research papers in important international conferences such as SIGMOD, ICDE, WWW, RTSS, INFOCOM, ICNP, ICDCS, IPDPS, IWQoS, ICPP.

Prof. Tao Zhang, Macau University of Science and Technology, Macau

Dr. Tao Zhang is a Full Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), Macao SAR. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Seoul under the supervision of Prof. Byungjeong Lee. After that, he spent one year at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, as advised by Prof. Xiapu Luo. He received his bachelor’s degree in Automation and his master’s degree in Software Engineering from Northeastern University, China. Tao is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS), a Senior Member of both ACM and IEEE, and a Distinguished Member of the China Computer Federation (CCF). In addition, he has also been named a Distinguished Visitor of the IEEE Computer Society. Tao serves/served as General Chair for numerous academic conferences, including ISSRE 2027, APSEC 2025, and SANER 2023. He is currently an Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE). His current research interests include AI for Software Engineering, Software Security, and Mining Software Repositories. He has published over 100 high-quality papers in renowned software engineering and security journals and conferences, including ICSE, ESEC/FSE, ASE, TSE, TOSEM, EMSE, TIFS, and TDSC.
